The following entry is a little insight, into the architectural commonality, among some of the largest terminals, being constructed in Nigeria today. The contractors, for these projects are Chinese powerhouses CCECC (China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation). These airports were expected to be delivered in 2014 and 2015, however the 'Nigerian factor', may push deadlines to 2016, or even 2017.
Terminal 2 - Murtala Muhammed International Terminal
Ultimately, the new terminal and the existing MMIA terminal, will have a total processing capacity of 12 million Pax, upon completion. The terminal is being constructed by CCECC (China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation). The rest of the design/contractor team are Nigerian firms: Arcaid Consultants, Fermak Associates, CDP Partnership and Mechelec Consultants.
This terminal, shares the greatest architectural similarity, with the new terminal, being constructed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, and this is an observation that we have previously shed light on.
